Albums of the Month – March 2015

March was a much quieter month than the first two months of 2015, though we did see a number of high profile releases including the new Enslaved (which completely kicked ass), Moonspell and Psycroptic. Anyway, here are our picks for albums of March 2015:

Nocturnalia – Above Below Within (23/3/2015)

Nocturnalia - Above Below WithinPreviously known as NocturnalAbove Below Within is this Swedish outfit’s sophomore full length album, and the first one under their new moniker Nocturnalia. If you thought that their debut Nocturnal was good, Above Below Within sees this psychedelic/occult rock band take things up a notch. With influences ranging from Led Zeppelin to Deep Purple or even Pink Floyd, one instantly knows that he is in for one hell of a trip.

Perdition Temple – The Tempter’s Victorious (24/3/2015)

Perdition Temple - The Tempters Victorious Perdition Temple returns this year stronger than before, with a refreshed outfit that includes one of my favourite bestial black metal vocalists – Impurath of Black Witchery fame. The riffs are still intense and razor sharp as fuck, bringing one back to the heydays of Angelcorpse with large doses of Morbid Angel included for a relentless, blasphemous blast fest. Impurath’s inclusion this time on Perdition Temple has also resulted in a sound that is much more brutal than before with his vicious attack – not that Gene Palubicki’s vocals were bad, but Impurath does bring a much more dangerous vibe to the band, as though things weren’t sufficiently brutal over at Perdition Temple.
